吃——吃出天下绝略 读——读透五洲华章

  根据新课标的要求,基础教育阶段英语课程的总体目标是培养学生的综合语言运用能力。综合能力的形成建立在学生语言技能、语言知识、情感态度、学习策略和文化素养等整体发展的基础中,也理应贯穿于教师教学活动的始终。根据新课标的要求,我以Food in Australia为例,谈谈阅读课的教学设计。
        I 导入
  导入是教学中非常重要的环节,它设计得好可以使学生快速有兴致地进入听课状态。在这一环节中,我是通过几个问题进行的。
  What food do you often eat ? and what’s your favorite food?
  What food do you know Australians often eat ?
这些问题设计力求符合学生实际,能激起学生兴趣,能让学生有话说,能对下面的文章有牵线作用。
  II 读前
  在此环节中, Show some pictures about the following food words:
  beef  cookie  eggplant  honey  melon  mutton  raw fish  seaweed  yoghurt
使所有学生都能饶有兴致地参与到师生互动的问答中来。
  III 略读
  要求学生快速浏览全文并掌握文章的大体内容,在此基础上回答下面问题:
  1 What do Australians eat for breakfast not so long ago?
  2 What is modern Australian cooking often referred to ?
  3 Where can customers buy food from different countries and cooking tools?
  4 What kind of cooking equipment can you see in an Australian kitchen ?
通过此环节,促使学生对文章的初步了解。
  IV 细读 
       1  Read the passage carefully and find the main idea of each paragraph.    
       2  Read the passage again and underline the sentence which best expresses its main idea.
       3  We have known the main idea of the whole text. Look through the following sentences and decide which of them support the main idea.
  a The consequence was that many people were overweight.
        b Today, Australians enjoy Japanese food with bean curd, seaweed, and raw fish, as well as Greek, Italian and Lebanese food such as pasta, olives, tomatoes, eggplant and lemons.
  c There are few or no artificial ingredients in fusion cooking, only the purest and freshest of produce.
  d Most Australian homes will have a stove on which you fry or steam vegetables, and there’s usually a microwave oven as well, for reheating food quickly.
       通过此环节,要求学生仔细阅读课文,着重培养学生的概括能力,同时把学生分成小组进行讨论,激发学生去积极思考,热烈讨论,而且我把自己概括的中心思想等与小组成员分享。
       通过第三步和第四步两个环节,使学生逐步达到能从文章中获取主要信息,能理解文章主旨,作者意图,能提取、筛选等新课标要求的能力,使学生的阅读技能在扎实的教学过程中逐步提高。
  V 读后
  让学生通过刚才所掌握的东西回答下面问题
1   Does the writer approve of Australian food today ? Why ?
2   Complete the sentences in your own words.
       1) Australian food used to be unhealthy because                     .
       2)  Australians like food from all over the world so                     
                                                       
       3) The main things which Australian grocery stores sell are       
                                                         (no more than 10 words).
      4)  Why barbecue is popular among Australians is that                                                                      
通过此环节主要是鼓励学生主动参与到课堂活动中来,同时检测学生所学,增强学生成就感。
  VI 讨论
讨论下面的话题:
       Do you like Australian food today ? If you like , please describe the types of Australian food you would like .
此环节要求学生尽可能多地使用本节课所学词汇,尽可能多地亮出自己的观点和说出自己想说的话。

  VIII 练习:
选了一篇与Food in Australia内容相近的文章让学生练习,强化阅读技巧
      Find the main ideas of each paragraph and the whole passage in the given text.
  IX 作业
      Write a composition telling the main similarities and differences between Chinese and Australian food.
这是任务型的写作训练,旨在培养学生的创新意识和实践能力。
  本节课的教学思想紧紧围绕新课标的要求而设计,在教学过程中有效地调动了学生的学习积极性,实现了预期的教学目标。
